Daily Devotional: Not Protest, But Effectual Fervent Prayer. Pt Three

A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: Not Protest, But Effectual Fervent Prayer. Pt Three

Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. Esther 4:16. Read: 2 Chro 7:14

According to scholars, the book of Esther is the only book the name of God is not mentioned saved His victory for His children. After Esther became a Queen, an enemy arose against the Jews in the person of Haman, the right hand man of the king. Haman became avowed enemy of Jews, he sought permission from the king and sent letters to the 127 province to destroyed all the Jews. This became known to Mordecai (Esther's uncle). While others were wailing and fasting, Mordecai went to report the new development to Queen Esther who handled the matter trivially. But her uncle reminded her of the opportunity she has to help save her people from destruction but if she fails, help will come from another place. The word changed her attitude and she replied her uncle to gathered all the Jews and fast and pray for three days. This singular act destroyed Haman and his family.

Beloved, keeping quiet in the time of war will lead to destruction. Bible says, there is a time of war, and a time of peace. Eccl 3:8b. Let us travail for our brethren in prayer.

* May God Almighty empower us to pray for His Church always.
