One of the reasons Jesus went about healing sick people when He was in the world was to show to us that the new covenant He came to establish with us is alien to sickness. Ill health cannot survive in this covenant. It is a covenant of life and health. So Jesus went about healing those that were oppressed of devil and he commanded his disciples to do same.

But he went a step further. Scripture says in 1 Peter 2:24 that He not only bore our sins, but "by whose stripes ye were healed." Peter used the Greek word "iaomai" for healed, which means to make whole and free from sickness. That is, sickness can never penetrate into our system. So we not just cured, we are eternally immunized again sickness.

The encounter of Jesus with the ten lepers in Luke 17:12-19 comes to mind. Ten of them received healing. And in that state, they could still be tormented by sickness. One came back and was made whole, freed eternally from the pangs of sickness, banished to live eternally full of health. This is where Christ has brought us to, all thanks to the new covenant. Glory to His name.

Dear Lord, thank You for bringing me into wholeness in my body. I live in health eternally. Sickness is alien to me. The health of God flourishes in me always, in Jesus name. Amen.
