For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. Acts 4:20. Read: Acts 4:16-21

In last Sunday Open Heavens Devotional, (THE VISION OF HEAVEN) Pst E. A. Adeboye said, the reason why his father never built a house with bathroom and toilet was because he had never seen any of such house before, so he was not motivated to build one. There is always a difference between having an encounter with Jesus than being told about Him (though being told about Jesus is not bad, but you must move to the level of having a personal encounter with Him because it will determine how you will relate with Him).

You can easily confuse, convince and deceive someone that was told about something sometimes, but it will be very difficult to succeed with someone that experienced it first-hand and was not told. This was the case of the early disciples. Just after they had performed a notable miracle in Jesus name, the sanhedrin called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. Peter told them, we won't stop speaking about what we've heard and learnt from Him, it would be better for us to die than to keep quiet and die in silence. Paul saw Jesus and was not afraid to die for Him. Stephen saw heaven and prayed for his persecutors forgiveness. What drives you determines where you will end at last.

* Being told about Christ is not enough to motivate you for Heaven, go for personal encounter.
