And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. - Acts 4:33
Before the coming of the Holy Spirit to the Church, they were just a gathering of listless men and women. They couldn't give witness about Jesus Christ. Some of them even went back to fishing. They were without direction. But when the Holy Spirit came, things changed for the Church. They were endowed with great grace. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Grace (Hebrews 10:29), and when He came, He came with great grace.
Did you notice that scripture says "...And great grace was upon them all?" (Acts 4:33). The "all" is not in reference to the twelve apostles only, but all the apostles, that is, the One hundred and twenty people gathered at the upper room. The same great grace that was upon them is upon us today. We are not a gathering of listless people, but a gathering of people who have been endowed with great grace by the Spirit of Grace.
The kingdom of God is not just in the abundance of words but also in the demonstration of the Spirit and power (1 Corinthians 2:4). And we have received great grace to demonstrate the gifts and great power of the Spirit as we give witness of the risen King, Jesus Christ. The great power is not to make us feel good, but to show the glory, love and praise of our King as we witness to the World. You have received great grace. Use it to demonstrate the great power of the Spirit to the world.
Keep winning daily.
Prayer:
Thank You Holy Spirit, the Spirit of grace for giving me great grace to enable me demonstrate Your great power. As I give witness to the resurrected King, I demonstrate Your great power, showing forth the glory, love and praise of Jesus Christ, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
