Dunamis’ Daily Devotional February 20, 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche – No Discipline, No Destiny

Topic: No Discipline, No Destiny [Monday February 20, 2017]

Scripture: He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. Proverbs 10:17 (NIV)

Thought For The Day: You cannot change your world until you change your life.

It has been confirmed that God’s purpose for our existence is for us to live with relevance and be fulfilled in life. On the other hand, the plan of the devil is to make people waste their lives on earth. One deadly enemy of destiny is indiscipline. This is the life that lacks self-control; it is a life where everything goes, a life where a man has no power to do what he wants to do without supervision. This kind of life renders people useless.

I would like us to have a view on two key thoughts on discipline and self-control:

1. There can be no destiny without discipline.
Esau had no discipline and aborted his destiny for a mere pot of pottage. He could not say no to his appetite and that ruined his life and destiny.

2. If you cannot control yourself, you cannot control your destiny.
If you cannot control your anger, lust for the opposite sex or your appetite for food, you cannot control your life and destiny. Until you are ready to change something inside you, you cannot change anything else. You cannot change your world until you change your life.

Determine to control the negative emotions of your life so they don’t ruin your destiny.

Remember this: You cannot change your world until you change your life.

Assignments:

1. Search your life and see if there are areas where you lack discipline.

2. Work towards changing those habits by studying the Word of God and applying it to your life.
