Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Mopamuro LGA have been assured of continuous support that will help rebound the party to victory.
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, stated this today at a meeting with members of the party from the area, said their support for Governor Idris Wada in the last four years deserves to be commended.
Awoniyi said he will never turn his back on the people of Mopamuro LGA, said their prayers and support for him in the last four years have propelled him to serve diligently in the present administration.
While noting that the PDP will rebounce and take over government again in the country, Awoniyi, urged the people to see the task of rebuilding the party as a collective responsibility.
The Deputy Governor, said the history of the PDP in the country would not be complete without mentioning Mopamuro, said the formation of the party started from the area, urged the people to stick with the party.
Awoniyi thanked the people for voting enmass for the PDP in the last governorship election in the state, appealed to them not to leave the party following the loss suffered by the party, disclosing that with the commitment of the party leaders, there is a renewed hope that the party will rebound.
While noting that having won election by the party in the last sixteen years since its formative stage, said the loss should not discourage them as the area is largely a PDP stronghold.
As part of his thank you visit to Mopamuro LGA, Awoniyi visited the Elulu of Mopa, Chief Julius Joledo, where he thanked the Royal Father for his fatherly support in the last four years.
The Deputy Governor also visited Chief Samuel Akande, a one time Deputy Governor and leader of the party in the area, and thanked him for providing the leadership that had made the party stay on course in the area in the last four years.
In their various speeches, Funsho Daniyan, Council Chairman of Mopamuro LGA, Hon Eric Fiki, and Hon Funsho Williams Shogo, Chairman of the PDP in the area, all commended the Deputy Governor for his leadership qualities, prayed God to guide him in the future and in his other endeavors.
