AirFrance-KLM replaces planes on Nigerian routes
Europe-based mega carrier, AirFrance-KLM, says it will change its planes servicing the Lagos-Paris and Lagos-Amsterdam routes effective March 27, 2016.
The airline said the development was part of the plans to meet its customers’ needs and improve services on the Nigerian routes.
The General Manager, AirFrance-KLM, Mr. Jean-Raoul Tauzin, stated these when the carrier hosted its customers to a dinner in Lagos recently.
He said, “From March 27, 2016, we will be having the Boeing 777-200 on KLM’s Lagos-Amsterdam route. This aircraft is fitted with the new KLM cabins, full-flat seats in the World Business Class and extra legroom in the economy class. This means more comfort for our customers irrespective of the class they fly in. A new in-flight entertainment system is also available in the two cabins.
“On Air France’s Lagos-Paris route, we will also be changing our aircraft starting March 27, 2016. We will operate the Airbus 340-300 from March 27, till May 4, then the Boeing 777-200 for five months before having the A340-300 back again in October. Both aircrafts are spacious, offering more legroom and overall comfort.”
The dinner was meant to thank all the carrier’s customers for their continued patronage and support over the past years.
Tauzin said the forum also afforded the management of the airline to get feedback on areas to improve its services from the customers.
In his welcome address, he said, “Thank you all for your continued patronage and support for both Air France and KLM: Through the good and the bad times you have been with us and trust us to take care of your safety and comfort on ground as well as on board our flights.
“You have grown from being our esteemed clients to being esteemed members of our “BLUE” family. The success of our company would not have been possible without the support of you our customers so I say once again thank you”
The dinner had in attendance over 150 guests including Chief Jonathan Olopade who is one of the airline’s pioneer customers in Nigeria.
Olopade has been flying KLM and Air France for more than 50 years.
Meanwhile, Tauzin stated that the joint carrier had taken delivery of its second Boeing 787 Dreamliner recently.
The aircraft will serve Abu Dhabi and Bahrain routes, while it will also be deployed to the Dubai and Rio de Janeiro routes during the winter season.
The AirFrance-KLM boss noted that the carrier had opened new routes with some being operated with in conjunction with its SkyTeam partners.
