Topic: Build Allies 2 [Sunday, 20th Nov. 2016.]
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14
There are many benefits of having allies, but even as we look forward to building alliances with people, we must endeavour to watch out for uneven match ups. The business world is a terrible place, filled with all sorts of fraudulent dealings in varying degrees. Business ethics, which are upshoot of the character driving the business, are mostly in the red because of a drive to make more profit than supposed. So, people tend to be fraudulent in their dealings. This is why, as christians, we must allow our christian ethics guide our business dealings, including building alliances.
God is interested in our businesses. He wants us to be profitable in all our dealings. But when it comes to forging business allies, we should only align with people whose character and business ethics are in line with our christian virtues. Scriptures says in 2 Corinthians 6:15 - "and what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?" We just can't align with anybody, it is dangerous. When fraudulent activities are involved, we might end up in jail and lose our businesses.
Another thing with uneven alliances is that we will be aiding Satan's cause directly or indirectly. The consumers of the goods and services of fraudulent businesses are short changed or may not get value for money, and this will affect them in multiple ways. God will not be glorified in all these. This is why we must make sure we align with people of virtuous character, who wants to glorify God in their businesses. Proverbs 22:1 says: "a GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches." Build alliances only with people of integrity and good name.
Keep winning daily.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for Your Word of admonition. Help me Lord to identify people of character and christian virtue, even as I seek to forge alliance with them, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
