Topic – Forgiveness: Hallmark Of Christianity [02/12/16]
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:13. Read: Col 3:13-17
To forbear means, to tolerate something or somebody that offends you. It's to forgive beforehand, i.e., forgiving before the offender ask the offended for forgiveness. God probably is the one that has this attribute of forbearance. For instance, when David killed Uriah and prophet Nathan threw a parable to David which he was angry at the man that killed the only ewe of the poor man to entertained his visitors. The prophet told David, you are the man And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. 2 Sam 12:13. God forgave him before he asked for it. And everyone that belongs to God possess such nature and expects us to forgive our offenders. Note that unforgiveness is a spirit and anyone with such cannot enter into God's kingdom.
The Bible says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us". Rom 5:8. If you actually desire to experience complete restoration this month, you must not harbor unforgiveness in your heart. This can also cause you your heavenly home. Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. As one hoping for complete restoration, make up your mind to forgive all your offenders. Release them from your heart and set yourself free from stagnation.
