Photos: NairaBet donates new bus to Shooting Stars


It was celebration galore inside the Shooting Stars FC’s office in Ibadan Sunday when one of the leading betting companies in the country, NairaBet, presented a brand new 32-seater coaster bus to the Oluyole Warriors.

Presenting the bus was the chairman of the company, Otunba Akin Alabi, said his love for the club informed his decision, saying government could not do it alone considering the present economic condition of Nigeria.


“I have been supporting Shooting from my boyhood days,” he said, adding, “I have been praying for an opportunity to do more and I am happy that the time has finally come. “This bus is just the beginning of what NairaBet intends to do for Shooting Stars, as there are plans to make it bigger.” Alabi assured that more sponsorship packages would be unveiled before the end of the week as he continues his support for the club.


Speaking on the kind gestures, the General Manager of the club, Rasheed Balogun, described the donation and support as thing of  joy and relief for him and the team. While thanking NairaBet for the support, Balogun used the opportunity to call on other well-meaning citizen of Oyo State to support the club. In her own acceptance speech, the Permanent Secretary Oyo State Ministry of Youths and Sports, Agboola Ololade, praised Otunba Alabi for his love for the club while also promising that the club will not disappoint by getting a continental ticket at the end of the season.


All present at the presentation was the Chairman House Committee on Sports, Hon Fatai Adeshina, the staff of the club and other well-wishers. Meanwhile, Shooting Stars on Sunday lost 1-0 to Lobi Stars in their opening game of the season inside the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
