Channels Kids Cup: Kogi FA chairman Isah Umarr Congratulates Gallant Qua Iboe school

The chairman of Kogi Football Association, Sulieman Isah Umarr, has congratulated Qua Iboe Primary School, Idah for making the state proud finishing second at the just concluded Channels National Kids Cup in Lagos.

Impressive Kogi's Qua Iboe lost 3-0 to the LGA Mohammed Kabir from Kaduna to settle for the silver medal and one million naira cash reward as runners-up.

A statement by the secretary, state FA, Augustine Ogunmola, quoted the chairman as saying that the pupils have demonstrated unisim and true team spirit of the confluence state, part of which are handwork, dedication and cooperation.

The chairman commended the organisers and winners LGA of the Kids Cup for their achievement at the competition, adding that the feat was a testament of potentials in the northern region.‎

Mallam Umarr stated: “I congratulate the representatives of the state at the Channels National Kids Cup tournament for coming out second position in the competition. We salute their diligence and industry.

“Throughout the tournament, these youngsters demonstrated the ethics of decency, forbearance, healthy competition and dedication which resulted in their incredible triumph as the silver medalists.

“We are very proud of them, their managers, all facilitators of this victory, their parents and friends. ‎With this accomplishment, they must not rest on their oars both in sports and academics. This certainly is the beginning of great achievements for them and the children of Osun.”

He further applauded the support from the state governor Yahaya Bello and Honorable Umar Buba Jibril, House of Representative member for Lokoja/Koto constituency who sponsored the state U13 championship which produced Qua-Iboe School.

"I'm very happy with the team's success and must appreciate our governor and Honorable Buba for their support to the team. Their little efforts motivated the kids to success.

"We hope more of this supports for the kids will come from various individuals and organisations to help catch this talents young," he concluded.

Qua Iboe are the reigning champions of the Kogi FA U13 Football championship that was launched in 2015 by Mallam Umarr upon assumption of office.

They are the second to participate in the TV's national age-grade championship from Kogi State but first to reach the finals.
