Rivers APC condoles Peter Claver on mother’s demise

…….Describes her death as a colossal loss to humanity

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has condoled a renowned journalist, Mr Peter Claver on death of his mother, Mrs. Ezinne Paulina Chinyere Oparah.

In a condolence letter duly signed and issued by Dr Davies Ibiamu Ikanya the Rivers State APC Chairman, he stated that: “We received the news of the death of Ezinne Paulina Chinyere Oparah with utmost shock, grief and bewilderment. Though she died at an advanced age of 84, she showed little sign of illness and readiness to leave us at this period when we are in dire need of her encouragement and jokes that have kept us and her entire family happy even at difficult times. God who has decided to call her home will grant us all the fortitude to bear her departure.

“An Amazon who through her the world was blessed with ten wonderful children who are fiercely progressives and who are Change Agents based on their personal convictions in our nation. Principally among her kids is our beloved friend and brother, Mr Peter Claver Oparah whose write ups assisted so much to send the unpatriotic, inept and ungodly administration of the last PDP Government packing from Aso Rock and sustained the progressive APC government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okoroacha in Imo state. Peter Claver Oparah was and is an asset to us in APC and we are convinced that sooner or later his inputs to the new order will be highly appreciated by both APC Administrations both at the Centre and Imo State.

“We are happy to note that Ezinne Paulina Chinyere Oparah lived a humble and truthful life. A devout Catholic who diligently brought up all her children with the fear of God and on solid principles and imbibed the tenets of truth, discipline, and very sound moral upbringing and the fear of God among her kids.

“A strict disciplinarian and an active woman leader who played her parts in the progress of all societies and women groups she belonged to. She was outspoken and a strong advocate of people's rights and free expression.

“As we celebrate the departure of this icon, we thank God that through her our dear Peter Claver Opara (PCO) came into existence.

“Adieu mama the great one and may your gentle soul rest in the bosom of our Lord until we join you never to leave you again in eternity.

“Mama’s burial Mass will take place this Friday, 27th, May, 2016 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Amuzi Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State while her interment follows immediately after the church Mass at her family House in Umuokusi Amuz in Mabise of Imo State.”
