Dear Reader,
Compliments of the season to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! I hope you enjoyed your Christmas? God shall yet visit you in the New Year in Jesus’ name.
I started this teaching by explaining what submission is. The second week, I taught on submission being a command from God. The third week, I exposed you to how submission can be done by the words of your mouth and through your actions.
Last week, I unveiled to you that submission is likened to a seed, which is sown and will automatically be harvested in due season.
This week, as I round off this teaching, we shall be examining one of the major benefits of submission. I will be speaking on how commendably Submission Triggers Love! As you read, may you be blessed in Jesus’ name!
Wives, strive to submit to your husbands as relayed in God’s Word, and you will make it easy for your husband to fulfill his covenant responsibilities (love) to you. Your duty is to ensure that you fulfill your obedience to God’s Word, and if an injustice is done to you, God will be the judge. Whether your husband is an unbeliever or not, as long as he does not tell you to do things that are contrary to scriptures, you are to obey.
Your submission speaks greatly for you beyond comprehension, and automatically wins your husband over (1 Peter 3:1). God’s Word says: …and the wife see that she reverence her husband. The key word here is reverence! Once a woman lays hold on that key, she has succeeded in unlocking her husband’s heart. The only way you get your husband convinced of your submission to him is when his word counts in your ears and heart, and his instructions matter to you.
God’s Word says: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord (Ephesians 5:22). Your submission as a wife to your husband must be as unto the Lord. I have bought clothes that my husband stopped me from wearing; and because his instructions matter to me, I never wore them.
From 1 Peter 3:1, I saw that a woman does not need words to win her unsaved husband to Christ. Your action is what performs the miracle! If your submission to your husband is absolute, it will automatically trigger his love for you and would eventually get him saved because when a man loves his wife, he would end up doing anything to make her happy.
I have been married for over three decade now, and my husband and I have never had any occasion to look at each other in the face in a scuffle, argument or fight. Success in marriage does not answer to fasting and prayer, but to a correct positioning in the covenant.
Take this sister’s testimony for example:
“I have been married for the past 10 years, and ever since, there was no peace in the home. For me, marriage wasn’t good. Things were just upside down. I had a child in 1993, and he died. I also had series of miscarriages. I used to drive a car, but it was no more. It was as if everything came to a halt.
My husband started coming to Winners’ Chapel in January 1997. He didn’t ask me to come with him, because I was already attending another Pentecostal church. Yet, there was no peace in the home. The situation worsened, and in June 1997, the tension was so high that I said, ‘Lord, what will I do?’ I told my husband, ‘If this is what marriage is all about, let us call it quit.’ He replied, ‘Well, the door is wide open. You can go.’ It was then I sat down and did a rethink.
I came to Winners’ Chapel in June, and I began to hear the Bishop say, ‘I have been married for many years now, and there hasn’t been any concern or problem in my home.’ I said to myself, ‘Is it on this earth or on another planet?’
But somehow, God has done it for me too! Now, I know that I have been the problem, not my husband. My husband is a perfect gentleman! The Bishop’s wife jokingly says that if there was anything as another life, she would still choose to marry her husband. I, too, can joyfully say the same thing today!” Neburabo, R.
She realised that she’s been the problem. She wasn’t submissive to her husband in words and actions, perhaps. But, after the discovery, she aligned herself properly and made corrections where necessary. That was when she started experiencing the joy of marriage. You, too, shall experience the same liberty in your marriage!
Being born again is vital prerequisite for absolute submission that triggers true love. You get born again by saying this prayer of faith: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
Congratulations! You are now born again! All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org; OR 07026385437 and 08141320204.
