Topic: The Amen [30-6-2016]
Text: Revelation 3:14
One of the manifestations of Jesus to us as children of God is that He is the seal and assurance we all have to the promises of God. Romans 8:32 says: "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" Through Jesus Christ, we are guaranteed all things we asked from God. When we make our request known unto God, invoking the name of Jesus, we are certain that God will grant us our request, because Jesus is the Amen.
Amen is gotten from the Greek word amēn meaning verily, truly, surely, faithful and 'so be it'. It actually finds its root from the Hebrew word 'âmên. Jesus Christ is Amen to us. No wonder He said in John 16:23:24, "and in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." What Jesus was making us understand is, as long as we ask in His name, we have what we ask. Jesus Christ, as our Amen, is our certainty. He certifies the delivery of our request.
Before the advent of Jesus, when the laws and the prophets were being read in the synagogue, they end each reading with 'âmên, putting themselves in line with what was read. By so doing they become partakers of the blessings of what was read. So also, when we say Amen after the reading of God's Word and prayers, we align ourselves with the Word and what we pray for. It puts us in the place to receive the physical manifestation of God's promises to us in His Word, and the promises of God become 'so it is' for us, because of our Amen (Jesus Christ).
Keep winning daily.
Prayer:
Jesus Christ is my Amen, my certainty and assurance to the manifestation of God's blessings in my life. Because of my Amen, I live in prosperity, grace, favour, divine health and security. I am Making progress and spreading on all sides. I am blessed and a blessing to my world, in Jesus name. Amen.
