Winning Wisdom: Think No Evil

Topic: Think No Evil [27/6/2016]
Text: Psalm 101:1-3

One of the things about our lives as sons of God is the abhorence of evil thoughts from our lives. Thoughts, like we know, are very important. They directs our actions. We are love, and scriptures say in 1 Corinthians 13:5 that love "thinketh no evil." Evil must be far from our thoughts. Our thoughts are only things that are "true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise..." (Phillipians 4:8)

David said he will set no wicked thing before His eyes (Psalm 101:3). That is, he will never ponder on evil. Why? Because he hates evil and will never intend it for even his worst enemy. When King Saul was reported to dead, instead of rejoicing that at last evil and death have visited His sworn enemy, David cried for Saul. He had lots of opportunities, before then, of killing Saul, but because he will not set evil before his eyes, he never took advantage of the opportunities to kill Saul.

We must hate evil passionately and never think about it or perpetuate it. Jesus said in Matthew 5:44:  "but I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." Never think evil or wish it to come upon anyone, not even your 'enemy'. Do not hold anything against anybody. 'Behave yourself wisely in a perfect way' (Psalm 101:2), that ye may be children of your Father which is in heaven.

Keep winning daily.

Prayer:

My thoughts are lovely, just, true, pure, honest, full of virtue, praise worthy. Evil thoughts are far from me, for good is my meditation. And I only produce things from the goodness of my heart, in Jesus name. Amen.
