Nigeria Army rescue missing Commanding Officer and 4 soldiers
The Nigerian Army on Saturday said it has found four of its 16 soldiers and a commanding officer declared missing after Boko Haram ambushed its troops at Guro Gongon, Alargamo area of Borno State on Wednesday.
Colonel Sani Usman, Acting director, Public Relations said the Army, in a concerted effort to find the missing soldiers had deployed air assets, Special Forces and patrols and the search party on Saturday morning found 5 more officers and soldiers, including the unit’s Commanding Officer.
He added that though the rescued soldiers are in a stable condition, they have been moved to military medical facilities for medical care.

Please recall that some of our troops were missing in action after an ambush at Guro Gongon on 20th July 2016.
Consequently, concerted efforts were initiated to search for and rescue them. The measures include the use of air assets, Special Forces and patrols.
We wish to inform you that the search party has this morning found 5 more officers and soldiers that were declared missing in action, including the unit’s Commanding Officer.
Although they are in a stable condition, have been moved to our Medical facilities for medical care.
