Pastor Faith Oyedepo: Friday November 20, 2015 Daily Devotional – What do you think of “you”?

Topic: What do you think of “you”? [Friday 20 November, 2015]

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…”-Proverbs 23:7

“How can I be so foolish as to do this?” You thought to yourself and some days later, a similar thing repeats itself. Then you think: “Maybe I am just dumb!” Then, you begin to carry the idea around that you cannot get anything right. Friend, it is not that you cannot get anything right, but your mind has told you that and you believed it so it begins to appear as you have thought.

No matter what had or may be occurring in your life now, if you are going to succeed in life, you must refuse to see yourself in a negative light. Stop thinking you are unfortunate, unlucky or not good for anything. If you keep misrepresenting the happenings around you as fate, it will keep occurring. However, when you consciously rebuke and work to ensure its discontinuance, you become free from negativities.

Your thoughts are very strong and they work like magnet, attracting what goes on in it, to you. You can’t keep negative thoughts and expect the positive. Refuse every negativity and begin to tell yourself that you are created in God’s image and it is for His glory and not shame. You are God’s elect and chosen vessel, therefore situations should not tell you otherwise.

How you see yourself and think about yourself determines what you will experience. You are a precious gem of great price. God’s election and choice of you cost Him a great deal, so change your perspective and shake yourself out of the dungeon of self-pity. You are too much to be cowered, therefore, stop thinking low of yourself and begin to walk in the realm that God has placed you. Say like Habakkuk that although the fig tree may not blossom, there may not be fruit in the vine, yet you will rejoice in God and His Word and He will make you walk upon your high places (Habakkuk 3:17-19). You are too loaded to be defeated, therefore let your thoughts see you to greatness!

Remain Blessed!
