Lagos, Nigeria: Black Friday is upon Us! – The concept of Black Friday began in Nigeria in 2013. Since then the concept has spread like wildfire with major online stores jumping on the bandwagon of what could possibly be regarded as the largest shopping event in Nigeria.
Black Friday originated in the USA and is celebrated annualy on the fourth Friday in November- the week after thanksgiving. It is notably the first day of traditional Christmas shopping, during which crowds of consumers are drawn to special offers by retailers and e-commerce companies in more recent times.
This year Black Friday falls on the 27th of November and has seen many e-commerce companies in Nigeria geared up with assortments, inventory and amazing deals to grab the attention of bargain hunters across the country.
Innovative e-commerce companies continue to seek unique ways to drive their online sales during Black Friday.
Companies like Kaymu.com.ng have taken the festivities to a new height with the launch of it’s dedicated online store at the stroke of midnight on the 27th of November 2015 with the promise of jaw dropping deals and prices. That’s not all, they have released a comic video set to get people in the Black Friday mood.

With the concept of Black Friday catching on in Nigeria, more and more online shoppers have eagerly been looking forward to get in on the fun and games. Nigerians are expected to throw in huge amounts of naira at deals, offers and bargains in everything from electronics to fashion to furniture and many more.
