Topic: Avoiding God's Wrath [29/10/2016]
I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Isaiah 42:8. Read: Acts 12:21-25
It takes a man of wisdom not to invite God anger (knowing that, God is not only a merciful God but also a consuming fire), but to avoid His dangerous wrath. Jer 25:6 tells us way to avoid His wrath. "And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.” This is because, He is a jealous God, He cannot share His glory with any man, let alone a graven image. By doing that is turning His glory into shame which He frown at.
Another way by which one can avoid His wrath is to return all glory to Him after a major achievement. When King Nebuchadnezzar took the glory that belong to Him and robbed it upon himself, the end result was disaster on his kingdom. King Herod also was destroyed by the angel of the Lord when he failed to returned glory to God Almighty. Ascribing God's glory to yourself is inviting His wrath. Avoid it by returning all glory to Him.

* Father, for all that you've done for me (whether great or small), I return all glory back to you, help me not to invoke your wrath, rather help me to avoid it in Jesus name.
